Whole Wheat Oatmeal Cookies By: siso


  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons margarine 
  • 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-1/3 cups uncooked old-fashioned or quick oats
  • 1/2 cup raisins


  • Preheat oven to 375 deg. F.  Lightly spray cookie sheets with nonstick cooking spray.  Set aside.
  • Combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt in medium bowl; mix well.
  • Combine brown sugar, applesauce, egg whites, margarine and vanilla in large bowl.  Mix until small crumbs form.  Add flour mixture; mix well.  Blend in oats and raisins.
  • Drop by rounded teasponfuls onto prepared cookie sheets, 2 inches apart.  Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire racks.

Makes 3-1/2 dozen cookies.
